Classical & Musical Theater

At the age of 10, Jodi Hitzhusen made her classical singing debut as a soprano soloist in Britten's Ceremony of Carols. In 2003, Hitzhusen made her operatic debut as Pamina in the Springfield Regional Opera Young Artist production of Mozart's "The Magic Flute." She went on to receive a Masters in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory.
Since finishing her degree, Jodi has been freelancing in the Boston area, performing as a soloist with local choirs and orchestras. Jodi is passionate about the importance of music in schools and was the pianist and MC of the Handel and Haydn Society's outreach program for three years. She also enjoys learning new music and has performed premieres for several New England composers.
Musical theater is a style Jodi is comfortable with, both as a performer and teacher. Most recently, she was asked to record solos on a demo CD for a new musical called "Queen".
