Sacred Songwriting

My composing has been put to good use lately.  I specialize in short responses, rounds, and chants that can be easily learned by a group or congregation.  Although many of them are based on are biblical texts, I do not write exclusively religious music.  Most recently, I sang my own version of a "Hail Mary" during a church service with a liturgical dancer...one of my favorite types of collaboration is music and movement.

Church Work & Consulting

I love taking a creative approach to service music.  I currently work as the Music Director for First Worship at Wellesley Village Congregational Church and am available for consultations with other congregations on implementing new songs/responses into worship or on re-inventing traditional music.

Retreat Music Leader

In the last three years I have been contracted repeatedly to lead music for spiritual retreats in the United States and France.  It is very creative work, and I sometimes compose music specifically for these retreats.  Often, I end up being part of the planning process for the entire event, contributing to the format of the retreat and the rituals that tie everything together.  If you are looking for a musician for an upcoming retreat, please feel free to contact me.
